The Little People cows were first introduced in 1968 with the #915 Play Family Farm, and discontinued in 1991. During this time span, Fisher-Price made several different cows:
- The oldest cows have a metal rivet through their belly and no wording, meaning they were made in the USA.
- The 2nd version has a metal rivet and the words "Made in Hong Kong".
- The 3rd version has a circular depression where the rivet used to be and the words "Made in Hong Kong".
- The last version has a smooth belly and the words "Made in Hong Kong".
In addition to the above mentioned variations, there is one last difference to note. The white cows that were used on the later model #915 Farm, and on the #2501 Farm are a much brighter white than the older sheep. The are brighter not only because they are "newer", but because they are made from a different type of plastic than the older white cows. Click here for an illustration. Although it is a bit difficult to see the difference in our photo, it is very obvious when you have the two in your hand and compare them.
