Description: Children can explore the fun of sound with their very own xylo drum. Use the mallet to beat sounds on the drum or to create chime noises on the 3 xylo keys. The attached white grasp handle doubles as a carry handle, a storage holder for the mallet, and it also spins and makes a "ratchet" sound. In 1989, the colors for this set was changed. Designed for children ages 9 months to 3 years old.
Accessories:
  • 1977-1988:
    • FPT10911 - BLUE plastic drum (with yellow/white designs on the sides) that has 3 metal xylophone keys (red, yellow and blue) on one end and a drum on the other end. Side of drum has a spinning white carry handle (doubles as storage holder for the mallet).
    • FPT10912 - Yellow mallet. One end of the mallet has a grip handle ring and other end has a plus-shape. *See "Variations" below.
  • 1989-1996:
    • FPT10913 - Red drum with 3 metal xylophone keys on one side and a drum on the other. The sides of the drum has blue and yellow marching bears.
    • FPT10914 - Blue mallet. One end of the mallet has a grip handle ring and other end has a plus-shape.
Variations:
  • FPT45213 - Yellow mallet. One end of the mallet has a grip handle ring and other end has two circles merged in the center (like a ball with 4 pie slices removed).
Other Information:
  • 1977-1988 - FPT10915 - This set was sold in a 5-13/16" long, 7-1/16" high, 3-11/16" deep display box marked #421. This box has a picture of the blue drum on the side.
  • 1989-1995 - FPT10916 - This set was sold in a 5-13/16" long, 7-1/16" high, 3-11/16" deep display box marked #0421. This box has a picture of the red drum on the sides.
  • 1996 - FPT12102 - This set was sold in a 5-13/16" long, 7-1/16" high, 3-11/16" deep display box marked #70421. This box has a picture of the red drum on the sides.
  • The model number changed to #0421 in 1989.
  • The model number was changed to #70421 in 1996.
