Description: The micro explorer set is a great set for making science and discovery fun and exciting for children. The set comes with a battery-powered, lighted 30-powered microscope that children can use to examine the world around them. The set comes with clear plastic slides that have 90 different images on them, and a colorful guide book to helpt them along. The set also includes 2 blank slides for children to examine their own samples, such as leaves, grass blades, and more. Two specimen bottles, a pair of plastic tweezers, and eyedrops are alsop included in this set. All of the pieces sit into a plastic carry case with plastic inserts that hold the accessory pieces in place. The microscope requires 2 AA-size batteries (not included). Designed for children ages 5 years and older.

Carry Case & Liners:
- FPT14543 - White plastic carry case with an imprint of a microscope and the words "Fisher-Price MICRO EXPLORER SET" on the side. The case has a folding, snapping latch to prevent accidental spillings.
- FPT45179 - Blue left-side carry case liner. Has indentions for 1/2 of the microscope and stand, for the clear plastic slides, and for ONE specimen bottle.
- FPT14545 - Blue right-side carry case liner. Has indentions for 1/2 of the microscope and stand, for the tweezers, eyedrops, and guide book.
Microscope & Stand:
- FPT14546 - White microscope stand that tilts on it's base and holds the accessory microscope. The accessory plastic slides fit within groves so the slides can be examined with the microscope. WFL: 07-AK-01-G-F
- FPT14547 - Red 30-power magnifier that has a built-in light. Has "Fisher-Price" imprint on the side, a yellow focus wheel, and a yellow On/Off switch for the light. Requires 2 AA-size batteries (not included). Measures 6" long x 2" tall x 1" wide. WFL: 07-AI-03-B-B
- FPT14548 - Red magnifier battery cover (often missing). WFL: 07-AI-03-B-C

- 2 each - FPT14475 - Clear plastic containers (specimen bottles with yellow screw-off lids that have a 3-power magnifying lens in the top). Measures 2-1/8" tall x 1-5/8" diameter (lid) x 1-1/8" diameter (base). Bottom of base marked, "©1986 F.-P., HONG KONG". WFL: 07-AI-03-0-W
5 clear plastic sample slides. Each slide has different things that can be viewed under the microscope. All slides measure 3" long x 7/8" wide x 1/16" thick:
- FPT14551 - Insects - Slide with an orange butterfly imprint on one end of it. Features 19 different insect-related items on the slide. WFL: 07-AI-03-B-F
- FPT14552 - Plants / Animals - Slide with a brown frog and green leaf imprint on it. Features 9 different plant-related items and 9 different animal-related items on the slide. WFL: 07-AI-03-B-G
- FPT14553 - Fabrics / Rocks & Minerals - Slide with a yellow # symbol and a red ruby shape imprint on it. Features 9 different fabric-related items and 9 different rock & mineral-related items on the slide. WFL: 07-AI-03-B-D
- FPT14554 - Man-Made - Slide with a blue screw imprint on it. Features 19 different manufactured items on the slide. WFL: 07-AI-03-B-E
- FPT14555 - Magnification - Slide with a red magnifying glass imprint on it. Features 6 different items, each magnified three times getting closer and closer each time. WFL: 07-A2-02-3-X
2 each - FPT14556 - Clear plastic blank slides with 2 oval-shaped rings in the center to place specimens. WFL: 07-AI-03-1-T
FPT14557 - Guide/instruction booklet titled "Micro Explorer Set" at the top and has "Fisher-Price" across the bottom of the cover. WFL: 07-AI-03-G-A

Other Information:

1987-1989 - This set was sold in a 20-3/16" long, 12" high, 3" deep box.
1990 - This set was sold in a16-3/16" long, 12" high, 3-1/8" deep box.
This set replaced 1986's #3005 Micro Explorer Set. The #3005 set was sold with TWO specimen bottles and required a Left carry case to hold two bottles vs. one used in the 1987-1990 #6606.
