Description: Jumbo jitterbug is one of the Fisher-Price patented Pop-Up Kritters (Patented October 5, 1926-No. 1,601,983) that are made of bead and string construction allowing the Kritter to spring to life when the strings are pulled tightly, squirm and sway around as the strings are loosened, and laying flat when the strings are loosened all the way. Pop-Up Kritters are mounted on a paddle and the control strings have metal loops on the end to allow easy maneuvering. The Pop-Up Kritters had become so popular that the 1935 Fisher-Price dealer catalogue boasts that one store sold over 1,000 Kritters in one day without any special promotion.

Accessories:

FPT4188 - Purplish-mauve wooden elephant that is made of beads with strings through middle that pops up when string is pulled, and goes limp when released. The elephant has a black bead on the end of his trunk and legs, has big black oil cloth ears and he is mounted on blue guiter-shaped wooden paddle. A model number does not appear on toy. Measures 5" high, 7" long. Paddle measures 10-1/2" long, 2-3/8" wide.
