Description: This is a working camcorder (video camera) designed just for children and a small TV to watch the movies that they record! The camcorder records sounds and pictures on high bias audio cassettes. These cassettes do not look like VHS movie cassettes, they look like music cassette tapes that can be played in standard tape players. The camcorder comes with TV hook up accessories to play the recorded tape either on the TV that was sold with the set or on any other standard television (no VCR required). The recorded pictures are black and white and the picture is fuzzy, but the PXL 2000 was not only the first camcorder ever introduced by Fisher-Price, but it also marked the birth of a new era in technology making it quite desireable as a novelty to video buffs. Accessories:
- FPT3606 - PXL 2000 camcorder - Small black hand-held camcorder with a built-in handle on the bottom. One side of the camcorder has a tape receiver door and control buttons under the door (Record, Play, Rewind, and Stop/Eject). The eye-piece is located on the top and marked "Fisher-Price" on each side. The back has adapter plugs for the TV and adapter. The front has a lense that can be focused and a microphone. The camcorder has a blue and black paper litho on the side marked "PXL 2000" in blue with mint green line across the top and bottom. Measures 8-1/2" long, 2-1/4" wide, 9" tall.
- FPT3611 - Small black and white television monitor that also operates as a standard television. The front of the TV has a small screen with a mint green border around the screen. There is a channel dial on the front side, and control buttons across the front bottom (Power On/Off, Band V.L V.H or UHF, and Volume). The top front of the TV is marked "PXL 2000 TV" in blue and marked "Fisher-Price" in white under the screen. The back of the TV has a metal retractable fold-down antenna, knobs for brightness and contrast, and adapter plugs. Measures 5-1/2" wide, 5" tall, 6-1/2" deep.
- FPT3615 - Black rectangular A/C adapter.
- FPT3607 - Small black mini bi-pod stand that clips to the handle to make the camcorder stand on a table or other surface. The bi-pod is triangular shaped with 2 clips on top and marked "Fisher-Price" on the side. Measures 5-1/2" long, 5/8" wide, 1-3/4" tall.
- FPT3609 - Clear plastic C-90 high bias audio cassette tape. Measures 4" wide, 2-1/2" tall, 3/8" thick.
- Clear plastic audio cassette tape case.
- FPT3614 - Long thin black video cable with a RCA jack on each end. Measures 6'-5" long.
- FPT4548 - Thick black video adapter cable cord with an adapter on each end. Measures 5' long.
- FPT3608 - Rectangular silver video switch box that connects the camcorder to the TV set. The box has a black lever to switch from Camcorder to the TV. The side of the box has a black paper litho marked "PXL2000 CAMCORDER". There is an attached black antenna adapter on the side that attaches to the back of the TV.
- 6 each - AA-size battery.
- FPT3610 - PXL 2000 instruction book. 20 page booklet with a 3-panel fold-out back page. Measures 5" x 7".
- Yellow Guidelines card with 9 guidelines to follow when operating the PXL2000 camcorder. Marked "©1987 Fisher-Price, Division of The Quaker Oats Co., East Aurora, NY 14052 Printed in U.S.A. 3300" across the bottom.
