Description: The first Fisher-Price Little People School, #923 Play Family School, was introduced 1971 and discontinued in 1978. Finally, 10 years later, Fisher-Price introduced a new school, the #2550 Little People School. The #923 was a hard act to follow, but while the new school pales in comparison, it does have a few features that makes it one of the better late-model Original Little People sets. The school base has built-in desks in the classroom and a drop chute beside the teacher's desk that allows the students to slide down to the playground. The playground is a separate piece that attaches to the side of the school base. The playground slides under the classroom when not in use. It features a permanently attaches curved slide, see-saw, and balance beam. The school roof has a scrolling alphabet (which was omitted in 1990), the side has a clock with movable hands, and the front wall of the school folds down to a chalkboard. All accessory pieces fit inside the school.

This set features several exclusive pieces, including a school, jumprope, school flag, stop sign, a skateboard (omitted in 1990), a white playground barrel, an African-American girl with a bun hair style, and three 1990 exclusive figures: a teacher with glasses, a girl with glasses, and an Asian boy.

Accessories: Please remember that the following accessories are the accessories that are pictured in the Fisher-Price catalogues. These should be used as guidelines only, as other variations may exist:
