Description: 1962 introduced the 3rd Fisher-Price Original Little People school bus in the #990 Safety School Bus. The #990 looks nearly identical to 1961's #984 Safety School Bus, except the #990 re-introduced movable eyes on the front of the bus like those used on the #983 Safety School Bus.

The #990 Safety School Bus was sold with the same figures that were sold with 1961's #984 Safety School Bus. This was the last Original Little People bus that was sold with non-regular base figures.

Accessories:
  • FPT557 - Yellow school bus with a wooden base and a yellow plastic top. The bus makes a "putt-putt" sound, and it has a wooden head driver who turns from side to side when the bus rolls. The front of the bus has a smiley face and 2 eyes that move from side to side when the bus rolls. It has an opening door with a spring to close it, a red rectangle-shaped stop sign, and 4 red wooden seats inside that the people don't actually sit on - they stand on the floor in front of the seat (the last 2 people have no seats behind them). The bus rolls on 4 black wheels. Measures 14-1/2" long, 6" high, 5" wide.
  • FIVE tall wooden Original Little People (taller and wider than regular straight-sided people:
