Description: The 1st Discovery City was introduced in 2000 as the #74715 Little People Discovery City. This 2002-2003 version is nearly identical to the original, minus the food tray, and slight change of lithograph stickers used on the city base. The box for each set looks a bit different. The discontinued food tray, however, seems to be the biggest difference between the two sets.

As for lithograph sticker changes, one easy difference to spot is the rug in the "TV room". The 2000-2001 #74715 rug has blue and white square edges with a polka-dot center. The 2002-2003 #77702 has a red rug with yellow inside and 3 flowers. Also, all lithograph stickers for the 2000-2001 #74715 has a silver (metallic) background. The #77702 set lithos do NOT have a metallic background.

As with the original, this set includes Little People figures that interact with each other, talking and singing throughout the city. The city includes a Pet Shop, Firehouse, and a Central Park with motorized action roadway for the accessory fire truck or police car. Requires 3 C-size batteries (not included). Designed for children ages 1-1/2 years and older.

• 2-Piece Discovery City (snap together):
  • FPT50000 - City Storefront - City with white walls, grey base, 2 blue roofs, and a red squared roof above the center town clock tower. The city includes a firehouse with yellow lift-up garage door, a phone booth, a fruit stand, red Pet Shop window with revolving window, a yellow elevator to roof-top cafe (above Pet Shop), and overhang to attach swing and playground ramp. Clock tower (above fruit stand) has yellow movable clock hands and a BLUE clock face with yellow edges. Large red and white Fisher-Price awning logo under clock tower and marked "Little People®" in yellow text (blue outline). Lithos on the city DO NOT have a silver background.
  • FPT50001 - Central Park - Rounded green "central park" with a round motorized black roadway (WHITE lane divider dashes), grey street and ramp on one side, and built-in carry handle by roadway. Green 'grass' area includes a purple teeter-totter and yellow "magic phone" (figures talk to each other at magic phones), round platforms for accessory pieces, and flat area with picnic litho. Center of roadway includes a round light brown platform with wood-simulated gazebo deck. Base and gazebo deck have round platform for figures to stand (talk and sing together).
• Removable Attachments:
  • FPT30756 - Swing - Red swing with squared top/side bars to attach to the Discovery City. Side bars resemble "ropes". Seat has a hollow hole (no bottom).
  • FPT50002 - Gas Station Ramp - Squared blue roadway ramp with two steps on one side of ramp and other side of ramp has a "gas station" with removable gas hose. Gas Station includes a red litho gas pump and large rectangular litho of worker in check-out window Lithos NO NOT have a metallic finish (worker litho has a WHITE background). Top of ramp has a tab to attach to side of the Discovery City base.
    • FPT30758 - Gas Hose - Yellow gas hose with molded hand pump on one end and peg on other end to attach to hole in gas station ramp. Hose is curved, shaped like a number "7".
  • FPT30759 - Playground Ramp (Slide) - Squared blue playground with 2 steps and platform one one side and a slide on other side. Side of platform has a recessed lip to attach to side of the Discovery City base.
  • FPT30760 - Flag - Yellow flag that fits on roof of the Discovery City clock tower. Flag is squared with a short pole. Pole has a large ball on top and short peg on the end.
  • FPT30761 - Roadway Gate - Yellow gate that attaches to the Discovery City. Gate is a bit triangular with a C-clamp on large end.
• Roadway Items:
  • FPT50003 - Traffic Light - Yellow rectangular traffic light with litho on 2 sides of red, yellow, green lights. Light is mounted on a short pole with a large round base. The base is about 1/4" thick.
  • FPT30763 - Fire Hydrant - Short red fire hydrant with round top and 4 side valves. Hydrant has a large round base.
• Vehicles:
  • FPT30773 - Police Car - White top, blue base 1-seat Police Car with a blue star on each side of the car, a RED siren behind the driver's seat, a gas hole on the top edge, and rolls on 4 black plastic wheels that are recessed in the center (2 metal axles under car). Bottom of seat has a tiny upright peg in center.
  • FPT30774 - Fire Truck - Small squared red 1-seat fire truck with a 3-step ladder on the back (ladder does not move). Truck has a rectangular windshield on front, gas hole on rear top side, and rolls on 4 black tires. Bottom of seat has a tiny upright peg in center.
• Furniture:
  • 2 each - FPT30765 - Chair - Round yellow chair with slight lip on edges of seat and a raised backrest. Chair base is round and about 1/8" tall to lift seat up a bit.
  • 2-Piece Umbrella Table:
    • FPT30766 - Table - Round light brown table with wood-simulated table top and a hole in the center for the accessory umbrella to fit on top. The table has a square base with rounded corners to resemble "legs".
    • FPT13506 - Umbrella - Rounded yellow table umbrella with scalloped edges and a white angled pole. Angled pole makes umbrella appear to be leaning.

  • FPT30769 - Police Officer - Man with grey hair and moustache, blue shirt, pants, and hat, light blue tie, black belt, and silver badge design on front of cap (cap tilted sideways).
