Description: The Turtle Picnic is a memory game designed for children ages 3 to 7 years old. The game includes 4 plastic turtles, each with a purple flip-up shells that has a colored litho under the shell. Each turtle has a different color under it's shell: purple, orange, red, or yellow. The set also includes 18 cardboard lily pads. 16 of the lily pads are marked with a colored fruit item on one side, the fruit colors match the colors under the tuttle shells. The two remaining lily pads are Tumblin' Turtle cards with a picture of 4 swirling turtles on one side.
This game has two levels, beginners and more advanced. To play either game, the lily pads must be layed out randomly, snack side down. The 4 turtles should be placed in the center with their shells closed - no peeking! For beginners, players take turnes flipping over 1 lily pad card, and flipping up 1 turtle shell to see the color under the shell. If the color matches, the player keeps the lily pad. When all pads are gone, the player with the most lily pads wins the game. The advance way to play is to first turn over 2 lily pads. If the snack colors match, you get to open a turtle shell. If the color under the shell matches the 2 lily pad snack colors, then the player gets to keep both lily pads. If a player turns over a Tumblin' Turtle card (not used in beginners game), then that player gets to mix up the order of the 4 turtles. If the player turns over the Tumblin' Turtle first, then the player does not get to turn over any other lily pads during that turn. Just like the beginners game, when all lily pads are gone, the player with the most wins. This game is for 2 or more players.
