Description: The very first Snoopy Sniffer was introduced in 1938 as the #180 Snoopy Sniffer. The second Snoopy Sniffer was introduced in 1955 as the #780 Snoopy Sniffer. The third and final Snoopy Sniffer was introduced in 1961 as the #181 Snoopy Sniffer, remaining in production until 1980. Many generations of children have played with the faithful and loyal Snoopy Sniffer, thus making him one of the most popular pull toys that Fisher-Price has ever made.

The #180 Snoopy Sniffer came in 3 variations. The first two years he did not have a patent number below the Fisher-Price logo (resembles, #780 Snoopy Sniffer except LEG color). From 1940 to 1957, Snoopy was marked with a patent number. Snoopy was changed in 1958 to a brown dog with plastic ears.

Accessories:
  • 1938-1939 - FPT4079 - Wooden cut-out dog with paper lithographs on all sides of a white hound dog with black spots. The dog has solid black wooden cut-out double jointed legs with vinyl webbed feet stapled to the bottom. He has floppy black oil cloth ears and a 4" long spring tail with a red bead on end. When pulled, Snoopy makes a "woof-woof" sound, moves all 4 feet, and his spring tail wiggles. There is NO patent number shown below the Fisher Price logo (shows only the design number), thus making this version quite rare and more valuable than a Snoopy Sniffer that DOES have a patent number below the Fisher-Price logo. Measures 16-1/2" long, 6" wide, and 5-1/4" high (4" tail). *See "Variations" below.
