Description: In 1940 Fisher-Price introduced the #198 The Band Wagon, which has two circus horses that prance back and forth staying in step to the music produced by the band wagon. The #198 was discontinued in 1941 and replaced in 1942 with #171 The Toy Wagon. The Toy Wagon is similar to The Band Wagon as both have a wagon pulled by rocking horses, however The Toy Wagon does not play music. The Toy Wagon has a bell instead that rings every time the horses rock back and forth.
Accessories:
  • FPT4076 - Rectangular plain sanded wooden wagon with printed toys on the sides and the words "Toy Wagon" on the sides in red. The wagon has a green wooden base with a hitch on the front. The wagon is "pulled" by two wooden cut-out horses that are attached to a green wooden center base. The horses have paper lithographs attached to both sides of white horses with a black mane, white tail, and a red saddle with yellow edges. When the toy is pulled, the horses rock back and forth ringing the metal bell attached above them. The toy rolls on 6 wooden wheels: 4 under the cart and 2 on the center base under the horses. Measures 17-3/4" long, 7-1/2" high, 5" wide. WFL: 07-AE-16-1-B. *See "Variations" below.
