Description: The American Airlines Flagship is one of 1941's most interesting toys. Not only is it the very first Fisher-Price airplane, but it is also the very first Fisher-Price advertiser toy! The plane is a replica of a DC-3 airplane with realistic shape, lithographs, sound, and action. The two engines have heavy fiber propellers that spins and the plane makes a whirling engine sound when pulled.

This plane came both with or without wheels under the tail of the plane, but always came with black wooden wheels under the wings.

Accessories:
  • FPT1644 - Large orange wooden airplane (replica of a DC-3) with paper lithographs on the sides of the plane body, on top of the wings, and on each side of the upright tail wing. The body lithographs have pictures of 7 passenger windows, cockpit windows, a door, a blue stripe down the center, and an American Airlines logo on the back. The lithograph on one wing is marked "AA" in black, the other wing is marked "NC 5000" in black. The tail wing is marked "NC 5000" in black and has a black Fisher-Price logo on both sides. Each wing has a round blue wooden engines with a black spinning propeller that spins as the toy is pulled. A concealed whirling engine sound roars as the toy is pulled. The plane's wings span 20" wide. Measures 14" long from nose to tail. This plane rolls on FOUR wooden wheels, two located under the wings and two under the tail. *See "Variations" below.
