Description: The first Little People bus set ever made by Fisher-Price was 1959's #983 Safety School Bus. The Little People bus set was available in several forms over the following decades. In 2001, the bus got an electronic update with lights and sounds! Set includes a wheelchair, Carlos™ the bus driver and 2 kids (Maggie™ and Michael™). Bus requires three AA-size batteries. This set is idential to #77986 School Bus of same year, just different model number on bottom of the bus and slightly different markings above windshield.
Accessories:
  • FPT30586 - Electronic Bus - Yellow school bus with a blue base, red interior, red seats, and brightly colored balloon and kite lithos on the sides. The bus front has a face with a square nose and the back door folds down to double as a wheelchair ramp. Top of the bus has 2 red lights that flash when driver's seat is pressed. Press seat for other sounds and a song (Wheels On The Bus). Bottom of bus is marked, "77873 / 77802" and has a battery compartment for three AA-size batteries. Area above windshiled has a large red/white Fisher-Price awning logo (NOT marked "Little People").
  • FPT30581 - Green wheelchair with 2 green wheels. Wheels are molded to chair (wheels do not roll). Back of chair has 2 small pegs (handles) with 3 tiny triangular supports on the base. Bottom of chair is marked, "©00 MATTEL,INC., CHINA".
  • 3 Little People Figures:
    • FPT30582 - Maggie™ - Girl wears a yellow raincoat with 2 silver buckles in front, a yellow rain hat, red glasses, and red rainboots. She has a green backpack and holds a blue book in one hand.
    • FPT30583 - Michael™ - African-American boy with a green hoodie, blue pants, white shoes, red cap, yellow backpack, and holds a red paintbrush in one hand and a yellow plane in other hand.
    • FPT30584 - Carlos™ - Hispanic bus driver wearing a white shirt with a blue tie, a blue cap and pants with a grey belt, and grey shoes. Holds a sign in one hand (yellow triangular walk sign) and holds a red apple in other hand.

Variations:

  • FPT30585 - Green wheelchair with 2 green wheels. Wheels are molded to chair (wheels do not roll). Back of chair has 2 small pegs (handles) with 3 tiny triangular supports on the base. Bottom of chair is marked, "CHINA" (no copyright year).

    • FP77873BOX2001 (Box ONLY) - This set was sold in an open display box. Front side of box has an oval with picture of front of bus and marked "beep! honk!".
